Card Monster
The Bank of America ATM on Boylston Street ate my card this morning. I called up customer service, said "operator!" 14 times to its automated system and got a new card issued by a helpful service agent. Apparently once the card goes in and doesn't come out it gets shredded. So I don't have to worry about it being spit back out to a nefarious character. I wasn't really upset but I decided I would kick the ATM and mouth the words "mother fucker" so that when some Bank of America representative reviews the security tape s/he will know that I found this to be unacceptable. And yes, the customer service agent let me know that my "PIN number" would still be the same when I got my new card.
