Come on now
I paused the Celtics-Cavs game last night to go in and spend some time with Carol before she went to bed. When I came back out (less than a half hour later, which is the amount Tivo can buffer without recording) I skipped ahead through a commercial. Lo and behold, it was no longer the Celts-Cavs game but some reality TV show with teenagers. Caroline, my dearest angel, had recorded "The Paper" on MTV at 10:30.

Now I've put up with "America's Next Top Model", "The Hills" and all type of reality TV show. This is too much. I've been pushed pass the breaking point. This is too much.

You know I was just going to post a comment about my own roommate TV issues, how Sean gets out of work like 4 hours before me, so he's always already camped out on the couch, with his stuff spread all over, when I come home. And I don't really care all that much because I don't have cable in my room but I don't watch that much TV anyway. But still, it would be nice if I sometimes had the option to watch a movie on the (my) bigger TV in the living room instead of my tiny TV in my bedroom.

And I was going to say how it makes it even more annoying on the very rare occasions that I do want to watch something on cable because then I have to feel like a jerk and ask him if he'll move to his room (where he does have cable). This usually happens with Monday Night Football, but has also happened this week with the Penguins playoff games. And tonight I came home from work grumpy and he was there on the couch watching the Sox and I didn't feel like doing the whole "do you mind watching the Pens in here, or going to your room if you want to keep watching this?" game. So I went in my room to eat dinner and watch a movie instead. And just as I was opening the page to comment with something like all of this, wouldn't you know, Sean calls "Bye!" and goes out, and hey, now the cable TV is open for me! And I felt like it was some kind of karmic punishment, to make me feel bad for being annoyed.

But then I turned on the game and found I had already missed 3 goals, so I'm still kind of annoyed.
